Vision

 

A peaceful, harmonious, healthy and prosperous society in North Eastern Uganda

 

We share the dream that peace and stability shall return to the Teso-Karamoja region sooner than later to enable communities to concentrate their energies on productive socio-economic activities and for the young generation to grow up in a non-violent environment.

 

 

Mission


To promote a culture of peace among individuals and communities in North Eastern Uganda through conflict transformation interventions
.

 

TIP recognizes that the successful achievement of this mission entails building harmony both within and between the Iteso and Karimojong people.

 

 

 

Objectives

 

The specific objectives have been set in relation to the priority areas of concern to TIP

 

Promote and support community-driven peace building and conflict resolution processes

 

through

·                    Collaboration with community & religious leaders,

                      Local authorities and MPs

·                    Collaboration with the media

·                    Collaboration with selected partner institutions

·                    Training on peace building and reconciliation

 

 

Institutionalize Peace Education in schools to support a peace and non-violence Ethic in North Eastern Uganda

 

through:

·                    Collaboration with Ministry of Education & Sports (MoES) and

                            Parliament

·                    Collaboration with local authorities and school authorities

                      in the region

·                    Collaboration with Peace Clubs

·                    Collaboration with selected partners

 

 

Improve access to socio-economic opportunities for victims of conflicts

through

·                    Collaboration with concerned partners, and

·                    Lobbying and advocacy

  

Facilitate evidence-based peace policy formulation and program management by stakeholders

 

through

·                    Collaboration with local and international research institutions

·                    Strengthening TIP’s internal research capacity

 

 

Promote peaceful trans-boundary co-existence of communities for socio-economic development of the region

 

through

·                    Networking, lobbying and advocacy with local and national

                      leaders

·                    Collaboration with trans-boundary partners

·                    Collaboration with bilateral and multi-lateral development

                      partners
